I love my coated tablecloth!

Since always I have been a fan of table linen. I hunt for tablecloths, placemats, table runners in flea markets and in the most modern decoration shops. I like to mix old and modern dishes and use original table linen. I had always set myself the policy of never using coated tablecloths or oilcloths, which for me was a totally has-been universe to which I did not want to be associated. When it is said that only fools do not change their minds, I am a perfect example. Recently at the Maison et Objet fair I fell in love with tablecloths coated by several Basque linen manufacturers.

Why I like coated tablecloths?

Tablecloth cotton

First because they are real cotton tablecloths and not poor quality polyester tablecloths. The thin layer of plasticised product on the canvas is so thin that it can hardly be distinguished. The brilliant effect I hate is not visible at all. On the other hand, they are so practical to live with on a daily basis. A simple sponge tap and you're done, the table is always clean. A big favourite for the coated tablecloth !

Basque table linen, what beauty

I was aware of the existence of the Basque linen but I had never really taken an interest in this market segment which seemed a little too much like a "seaside holiday" to me. Serious error. When I went to the Luz Weaving stand I discovered an absolutely extraordinary brand of household linen. Wonderful designs, incomparable quality and products that go very well by the sea but also in a chic and sober apartment in Paris. In short, nothing to do with what I imagined.
